Down below

We are sea and sand. We are beneath you.

Trampled underfoot. Insignificant.

Just granules. Little pieces, unseen.

A backdrop for your beach, outside your home.

South coast of Barbados, West Indies.

Not allowed inside. Brush away the taint.

So dirty and unclean. Not good enough.

I am sure you are better. Haughty one.

We will not forget how we’ve been treated.

We have ourselves. You’re not the only one.

The only one who matters. Bite your own tongue.

Or place your foot inside. You will eat words.

We are hardy, tempered for the weather.

You are weak. Prey only on the injured.

You are our target. Prisoner of War.

Pay your respects. Tell us what is deserved.

Does it make you cry? Kingdom crumbling.

Built on our backs, therefore, you owe us more.

Cruelty and punishment for thriving.

Ages before you discovered toilets.

Our memories are vivid, remember you.

Welcome, warmth, kindness, generosity.

And you look down your nose. We’ll cut it off.

Show us you can’t be despicable you.

The gloves are off, pummeling pugilists.

You started the fight. Now it is a war.

Wide Asleep, Fast Awake

I have information to slay the beast.

I know the weaknesses so we can win.

I would lead an army, but none follow.

So I submit to you only ideas.

With conviction I write. It can be beat.

But we have to fight, united as one.

Send the ships from the harbor to invade.

Attack from the bay and along the coast.

Cross the border, across fences, highways.

Don’t forget the West, the island and north.

Return them to others and ask to join.

Take the republics that did not secede.

And the peninsula que no habla.

Revenge for invasion, one of many.

Stolen governments, outlawed their progress.

Fear those who were lost, they are still bitter.

Stolen presidents and sometimes replaced.

Unwanted but forced, that is enemy.

Engage the slaves who have not yet been freed.

Papered integration is not believed.

And to disrespect the men who brought them.

Allah is mighty, you have invoked wrath.

Give them diseases, they cannot withstand.

The system that deprives leads them to path.

Last but not least, remember boundaries.

But I seem to have forgotten the truth.

Not invincible, undeniable.

Since for the future the beast has prepared.

Dismantled our legions so we can’t fight.

So I must take the alternative path.

Spoken secrets into listening ears.

The bridge again burns beneath my footsteps.

The atomic wars ended in the past.

Where do I fight when the future is now?

When all the natives are perpetrators.

I am different, stuck in the present past.

Seeking victory that is not in hand.

Who would battle and rumble with the beast?

Alone. There is not a contender left.

I must right the wrongs, but what can I give?

Somebody must want some help. How to win…

Not good enough. A coward, in effect.

Yet I will continue searching, until…

The end must come, but mine not so quickly.

Fervent, staunch, embrace the ways that once were.

Outstretched hands grasping empty space. I fall.

I cannot be from a world that’s not mine.

No tongue or words to speak, maybe in time.

The path is not rewarded. All have failed.

Who can hear the screams of a searching man?

Destructive

Far too long since you pushed them in the mud.

Now they will push back and spit in your face.

Your precious currency that means nothing.

Will be all that you have left to consume.

Far too long you have kept them far below.

Packrats, hoarders, keep it all to yourself.

It is time the people speak louder words.

Scream until your eardrums acknowledge them.

No protection for your dying kingdom.

They will steal the keys and gouge your eyes out.

A place where men won’t have to fight instinct.

Chains of minorities keeping them behind.

It is time to grow and reach potential.

Rid ourselves of privilege and circumstance.

When bellies are fed and humans can grow.

None shall suffer while others rule the world.

Consume like a vacuum with blackened hearts.

Slice you to spill your guts and feed the world.

bloody handprints

Spread like the plague your sickness of mind.

Govern like the sun, reaching every stone.

There is no wrong that corruption creates.

Only misunderstood, to be replaced.

As we move forward, capable as yet.

We encounter no boundaries. All is set.

“The People” all deserve a right to vote.

Unless they are wicked, dumb or untrue.

We’ve agreed upon the time, not the place.

It is your world they will eradicate.

Culture and arts shall not be for profit.

They represent feeling you cannot find.

To regain the balance, no compromise.

They will crush your world, shattered shards of globe.

Lapping water from a dish like your dogs.

Shove your face in shit to see if you care.

Nothing to drink and no warmth to be found.

This world will be empty if you aren’t stopped.

We’ve spread, populated all that we can.

Suffocate underneath the swarming mass.

Your values are broken, so time for change.

The People have spoken. Executed.
